    Re: CONGRATS!

Mom is doing a really great job keeping the baby's crop full! Dad hasn't went in the nestbox though. I guess he's waiting till he has too! Ben, does your daddy bird help with feeding? The other baby is suppose to hatch tommorrow!

    Bye

    father bird

    Hey b2b,
Sky, the father bird, has only been in the box once since the babies were born and that was a few days ago. when they were young he never went in. The mother is starting to spend way more time away from the nest, so the father's turn should probly be coming soon. She is also spending lots of time with her cuttlefish, so she is probly getting ready for her second clutch I dunno what to do. Let her have a second or stop her...

    Re: CONGRATS!

In budgies, the mother usually feeds the babies in the nest, while the father feeds the mother. when what the father gives her is no longer enough to feed the little ones, she starts to venture out for more food, and the father occasionally goes in and does a little feeding. The father doesn't really take over until the babies are feathered and leave the box - after thet it';s the father's responcibility to keep them fed and teach them how to be a budgie

    Re: CONGRATS!

Thanks..... That helps me out a lot. I thought that everyone else had a male that would stay in the box with the female..... I was getting a little worried.

    Here is a pic!
You can notice a whiter egg in the pic. That's the next to hatch!
