hehehe the joy of a rope perch:
I usually take a wet cloth and scrub away at it then let it dry for a few hours, depending on how dirty it is![]()
Stella Blue started moulting this week and I was surprised and thrilled to discover that she is a yellow face budgie!
Now, my question: how do you clean a rope perch?
i put mine in the dishwasher..
Nita
owned by
Mexican Red Head Amazon, Jade
3 parrotlets, SweetPea, Scoot and Buddy
2 Lovebirds, Squeak and Squalk
3 Canaries, Skinny, Fat Girl and Ringo
4 Budgies
Chickens, geese, guineas, and pheasants
I just soak mine in hot soapy water and scrub, and rinse really well, and then let it air dry.
I was hoping y'all would say that the rope perch is the only thing that doesn't have to be scrubbed down regularly. Sheesh, these birdies have it good.I'm their maid!
I put mine either in the dishwasher, or in the washing machine on delicate (no detergent, just hot water) I usually rinse again when I get them out (because I'm neurotic and want to make sure there's absolutely no soap residue whatsoever on them) and let them air dry.
Even a small bird requires a large commitment!
interesting.
since i got a rope perch, my budgies have "respect" for it
they haven't soiled it in any way, and seem to appreciate it.
they haven't even tried pulling or chewing at it.

mine chews his lots but doesn't poop on them (they are high) he prefers to use them to perch on for poo target practice for everything else he ignores in the cage,
