    how to stop fighting?

    Hi all,

Haven't posted in ages but some of you may know from a previous post that Spike and Ellesse (both males) attacked Barbra (female).

So i'm just wondering how could we stop this?

At the minute Barbra is in her own cage but its such ashame because she keeps calling for Ellesse her mate. Spike and Ellesse are together in another cage and getting along quite well now.

So should we put Barbra back in and quarantine another female and introduce them so there will be 2 males and 2 females in a larger cage or keep them separated. But if we keep them separate were going to have to get rid of Barbra as we haven't got the room for 2 separate cages. Which we really wouldn't like to do as we love them all.

    Hope this makes sense.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Kirsty

In my opinion bringing another bird into this situation wouldn't work. If you don't have room for 2 cages (you would need to quarantine new bird) how would you have room for 3? There is also no guarentee at all that the 4th bird would bond with the one you wish it to.

Thanks for the reply we would have the room for a bit for not long term, thats what was worried that if spike never got on with the new bird. This is such a hard decision but i don't want to make things worse
