Wow, 29 years old! It is so great that he was taken care of so well that he lived that long. Did you set up a platform for him to sleep on at night, or does he still lie on the bottom of the cage?

Hi,
I tried to make him a bed at the bottom of the cage but he just messed in it,lolol. He does still sleep on the bottom occasionally but seems to spend more time on his perch now. I have done nothing different.

Hi,
What is his name? I had a pearl male, Flipper live to be a few months short of 30. It sounds like your fella is getting delayed nesting behaviours with the faviring the corner and getting defensive of the cage.

Merry Christmas to you all from the UK.
Just thought I had better give you an update.
Tommy is still very much alive,screeming,shouting & talking.
He is still sleeping under his food bowls at the bottom of the cage but as soon as anyone comes in he is there non stop singing ect on his perches.
He does still attack my Husband & we all think it hillareous as he was the one Tommy loved most of all.Now its me.

Aww, I just read through this thread and noticed the dates... I was expecting a sad update since he's so old, but I'm happy to find out Tommy's still going strong!

It's so nice to hear of a bird who has spent his whole (incredibly long) life with one loving family. Especially such a handsome bird!
Do you think he would use a wire perch thing? I've got one here that Sammy (typical lovebird) hates and throws out of the cage every opportunity. I took the hint and it's now sitting at the bottom of a drawer.

What a great update, I am so happy Tommy is still happy and attacking your hubby, means he still has lots of spunk in his for a old man. I was so nervous reading through this thread and watching the dates go by on the older posts. I'm so glad to hear Tommy is still around and happy and being noisy I wish we could all have our tiels live that long and be so happy!

I just wanted to update you all on Tommy.
Well he had his 30th birthday yesterday & is just the same naughty boy.
He is still very lively & unbelievable.If he isn't fed on time he shouts & screams until we take notice.This bird will not be ignored.

You could just upload it to your gallery for everyone to see, then you could copy and paste the picture or whatever here.
1. Just go to your profile
2. Click create an album
3. Click Upload Pictures
4. Browse through your documents until you find a picture you want
5. Double-click that picture to start uploading it
6. Wait until it is done uploading (Which could take a while) and then name and describe it
Hope this helps, I really want to see a picture of him!

I still haven't managed to post a pic of Tommy.There was one on here but it has dissapeared.Can someone post it for me if I send it to you?
An update on Tommy now in his 31st year still singing,dancing & attacking me,lolol
He loves to cuddle under my neck & then we dance around the room.I don't know how I will manage when that dreaded day arrives.
