new budgie babie Is this normal for budgies?

    Hi
As I stated I have some new baby budgies. I have never had baby budgies just lovebirds and finches So Budgies are somewhat new territory and I am wondering if it normal for a baby budgies bellies to look so FAT and like it will burst any second??
NOT the crop area but the Tummy itself area??
I mean these bellies on the three oldest are REALLY tight and pot belly like??
The crops are always full when I check and mom and dad are feeding but it just looks so odd
I never had any of the babies from my loves or finches look this way

Just wondeing if I am a worrisome Granny??
    THANKS
    April

I can get pics if it will help

My baby birds each had a HUGE belly and I thought the mother was overfeeding them but she knew what she was doing all along!

No that's normal. A baby budgie looks wierd and nothing like a "normal" budgie until they start getting their pin feathers break open somewhere between week 2 and 3.

    Hi,
I just had a baby budgie born 2 wks ago, and yes it is normal from what I can see - huge bellies and such a little head for the first week or so. Now mine is covered in eider and pin feathers and is looking oh-so-cute!!

From what I can tell, Budgies are excellent parents - at least someone in my house new what to do! - the birds themselves! It really is a wonder to watch.

    Good Luck!
