    Perch for the desk??

Hello everyone, i was simply wondering if they sell a little stand with a perch on it that i can place on my desk so Sam can hangout with me while im on my computer so i can use both hands. He sits very well on my desk calendar so the perch would be better for his feet. If they dont sell them and i would have to make my own, what type of wood is safe? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

They do sell them and if you don't find them at your local pet suppliers you can order them online or you could make one yourself. You can also purchase the same wood they use for iguanas, etc. at some places because they are bird friendly. Not sure what to recommend though, I'll let someone else here who is more learned do that. I just picked up stuff for my birds in the bird section of the pet suppliers here and I didn't think it inquire as to what kind of wood it was, I just know it looks like a natural piece of drift wood and they absolutely love it and love perching on it.

I was told that wood dowels were safe and used them for my bird gym. The birds have enjoyed their gym for 5-6 months now and no problems!

I made one out of a piece of tounge and groove panelling, some 2 x 4 and part of an old broom handle that I roughed up with a bit of sandpaper so Theo could grip!
So far no probs - he loves it!
