Hey, now that look's pretty sweet kathy5. Lots of green tree's and fresh air, they will love you for it Budgies love being outside with all the other birds, just keep an eye on them from time to time as they do attract other birds and creatures.

    Re: kathy's birds outside

Quin got scared when I took him outside last year. It was the first time he'd ever been outside and the big open sky scared him. I wonder how Fleap will react. This time I have a covered porch, but I would like to give hir the chance to look at the open sky and see if she likes it. Quin eventually came to like it a lot - or at least be very curious about it.

    Nice photos Kathy!

They love it outside. My little Jo always seems to perk up when she is out in the sun, especially if there is a shower involved.

I love the idea that your birds have the freedom to be outside (caged that is). They look so beautiful there too.

I put mine outside too, they love it,especially when I mist them.THey also need the vitamin D so they don`t get rickets. They just can`t get to much sun.It is a chore though hauling four cages outside....LOL.

    Re: kathy's birds outside

That time is almost here for us too. We don't get to put the birds outside until about June or so. I take them out in the mornings as the afternoon is much too hot for them. I have a question. Do you ever worry about mosquitos biting your birds or other birds and having them transmit a virus to your bird-? Someone told me once that if mosquitos bite birds it can be lethal and deadly and the disease will spread to humans. Forgot what it was though. I always worry about that here cuz' we are land of the skeeters, they are *massive* in size up here so I net the cages when they are out because I don't anything to happen to my babies.

Thank you for sharing your photos. They look just gorgeous outside and like they really enjoyed their "day out."

    Re: kathy's birds outside

Well your welcome I guess. I'm just always falling all over my birds and how adorable they are and so I'm always thinking about what is good for them and what's not good for them. I am dreading when the skeeters come out this year as I've not seen any as of yet but that doesn't mean they aren't hatching soon. When I net their cages I use netting/screening I got from Lowe's...or maybe it was Home Depot-? Nah, think it was Lowe's...pretty sure it was. I can't wait to put mine outside now, you got me all happy about the prospect.

It is called West Nile Virus. If a person is bitten by a mosquito that carries it we would get real sick. If our birds get bit they will die. Here in Michigan they have already found a dead crow that had the disease from a mosquito. Be careful everyone.
