    New parents with 5 eggs

I'm new to cockatiels and have a young male & female, who have been mateing and she has laid 5 eggs probably a month ago. They both sit on the eggs and none have hatched. One of the eggs is dark and grey the others are all white. Should I throw the eggs out? Also the male has become agressive to the female all the sudden.

    Thanks

This link should answer all your questions.

You should really read up on breeding as many issues can arise if you do not know what you are doing. I am sure you want your pet tiels safe and healthy.
The normal hatch time once they have started sitting on the eggs is 18-21 days. If it is past the 21 days I would say the eggs are not good.

You may want to seperate them if you are not prepared to breed or do not want babies. Also because of the aggression issue. Not sure what that is about. Cockatiels can get into some pretty mean fights causing some serious injuries.

    Hope this helps.

Courtney - was is the darker egg that hatched? As the babies pip the shell, air gets in and the shells will look darker. I'd leave the others in the nest box and give them a little more time.

If they laid the first egg a month ago, but didn't really start sitting on them until they were all laid, then this is the right time for hatching to start.
