they have seed/pellets cuddle bone and budgie nutria berries.
after what happend with my budgie eggs I am so happy to have baby zebra finches. heres a picture of the parents.

Re: baby zebra finches
ya its very hard to get a picture of the babies. as the parents are small and they have a little nest to. compared to lovebirds its hard to get a clear picture. and Zebra finches are very nerves birds they flutter around when I change the food and water. I would not want to upset them but in about a week I should be able to get some pictures.

have a paper shredder and I shred the paper into strips. I also buy cocanut fibers that I buy on ebay. some of the news paper is from the bottom of the cage. I never thought of tissues I could use that to and paper towels too.

If you use tissue, just make sure it's the kind that's unscented with no lotion Newspaper can bleed and the ink can be ingested. Could you just shred some standard printer paper for them possible?

i stay away from scented anything. i like the tissue over the unprinted paper since it is softer

I wouldn't use this stuff - it can trap bacteria and it's too hard to see droppings to monitor health.

Re: baby zebra finches
You also can't be sure that the newspaper used is made with safe ink, and sometimes other things end up in it too (like plastic or rubber).
Plus, it's not exactly cost effective...

Re: baby zebra finches
I will just buy a cage with a grate at the bottom i was looking at some the other day on ebay. that way i can put news paper on the bottom.

Re: baby zebra finches
one of the baby's fell out of the nest so I am hand feeding it now it is doing very well. I researched on handfeeding zebra finches. and asked a person who had done it before. the other three are still with mom and dad and are doing well.
