    Summer & Ollie

    Hello!

I haven't posted on here in ages!

At the moment they are being converted to pellets as the vet suggested it...although I don't really like the Pretty Bird brand because of the colouring but...I was going to get this one after it has all gone.

    http://www.harrisonsbirdfoods.com/st...verseas/uk.htm

Mainly because they sell it over here. Oh and it is organic which I approve of.

Although I think Pretty Bird would go down better with Ollie as she doesn't like "healthy" food. Although they already do have Pretty Bird it is just they were on "Jungle Munchies" or something which is the pellets and the seed. lol

Yeah and good news I actually seem to have found a vet who knows about birds, the other ones I tried didn't know much because they specialise in small furries etc.

You should definitely switch to harrisons - pretty bird is really not a good food. Good to have you back!

    Re: Summer & Ollie

I never liked the colored food. My cockatiel was on Kaytee foods for years and his poop was always rainbow colored and messy as heck. I know it sounds gross, but he has way cleaner poo on Harrison's!

I did get my cockatiel off Kaytee pellets pretty easily, though I gave him several brands to try (Roudybush, Lafeber's, TOP, Harrison's) and he choose Harrison's.

Good luck with the conversion. It's not always easy.

Harrison's is definitely one of the best brands you could be feeding. Not only are dyed foods just not the best, Pretty Bird is actually a really awful food, dye ignored.

    Re: Summer & Ollie

    Why is it really awful?

Well I have like A LOT of Pretty Bird left...and I am going to get some harrison type food...and obviously I still need to give them their old food so they can be converted...

Harrison is suitable for canaries too I think so I'll convert them too.

It says this vet sells it, so i'm going to ask as I hate buying online.

Well slowly...canaries like different food, but the budgies are difficult.

It's just really low quality, and the addition of the dye makes it worse.

    Re: Summer & Ollie

Yeah...well I don't like eating colourings myself so don't like my birdies having it.

    Plus I prefer organic.

I think tho Pretty Bird isn't that bad, it isn't the best but it isn't the worst either. lol
