    Combining Cockatiel Couples

OK - can't get an answer any where - guess I'll try here. I have a pair of cockatiels that have been together for years. I'm thinking of rescusing another pair. Can I put all of these birds together? I know that I will have to introduce slowly - but I would prefer to have only one cage. The cage I have is more than large enough for 4 birds.

    Thanks

If the cage is big enough go for it. However, I strongly recommend you quarantine the new birds for a month. If that is not possible I would not get another pair. It’s very important to quarantine them. I would also have a back up cage if things do not work out and they do not get along.

If you are going to take them in you, you do need to realise there is a chance of them NOT going in the one cage.. its never about what we prefer.. its about what our fids prefer
