zupreem and red poop (please give me advice... i am so bad at poop colors)

anyhow so Toby had florescent green poop before and now as i've changed the porker over to zupreem in hope of him losing a gram or two his poop has turned a kind of redish brown. he hasn't had any access to metals that would contain lead which is what redish brown poop should mean. anyhow. does zupreem change poop colors?

Yes, fruity Zupreem(coloured) will change poop colour. Stitch eats fruity Zupreem, and his poop is a orange/brown,

This is one of the main reasons why I took my birds off of Fruity Zupreem. Switching them to Natrual Zupreem will make their poops a dark brownish color and it will stay that color. (unless of course the bird is sick.) It's a lot easier to tell this way if the bird is ill.

The urates/urine are colored most likely because they absorbed the color of the feces. If you are worried though talk to your vet.

Stitches urates are always white. I would see a vet to be sure, even Toby's fluorescent green poop was not normal(just reread your post). Dark Green is ok...but not lime/fluorescent.

called the vet she says its probably the reaction with the medicine comming out and the food and stress. she said considering nothings changed other than the food and the medicine its pretty pointless to do another poop test a week after the first one. luckily the lime green urates are gone as i caught keets poop on my white shirt and examined it and no green. also keet's urates are pretty much normal... slightly pink from the medicine... but not orange like toby's... oh well hopefully it changes or gets better or something... i hate scarey poops.

i remember when we gave our green cheek the rainbow pellets...he would only eat the red ones and i was freaked out when i saw red droppings! then i realized wait a minute its the pellets that was causing it. so to make sure i changed it to the natural brown pellets and ta da! back to normal color

I feed the fruity blend of the Zupreem and it does the same thing to their poop. It has splashes of green and brown and red. It's just a whole conglomerate of colors!

That's one of the reasons my vet said to get them off of Zupreem. He said it has too much sugar for one and a pellet diet is best, with the exception of fruits and veggies and seed as a treat once in a while.
