Just Showing off a dress I made! (pictures)

I had a school project where we had to use fabric draping techniques. So my assignment was to make a garment with a single piece of fabric, using minimal cutting. The dress we chose to replicate was difficult so we were able to use 3 separate pieces of fabric BUT they all had to be rectangle, not cut like a pattern. There is one MAJOR (but cool) aspect... WE COULDN'T SEW A STITCH!

So this dress is made out of 3 rectangle pieces of fabric, straight pins, safety pins, and a single uncut piece of crinoline (for under the dress) ENJOY!









I am really proud of it! I hope you guys like it! We also had to do the display or setting rather around the mannequin... Its not the best but it was done in a short period of time.

Forgive me if I sound dumb, but what does exhibit entail?

Exhibit can be a million things. Like retail window displays, New York has some of the most amazing displays... It can also be set design, I met a lady who built part of the set for one of those space t.v shows (like Star Trek but not that one) it was kind of interesting. I can also be museum exhibits or... well anything 3D I guess. I am soooo bad at explaining it.

Thanks everyone! I really enjoyed this project, I almost want to actually sew it up... but its attached to the mannequin by pinning into cheese cloth that was wrapped tightly around her... and the crinoline is literally stuffed under her! lol
