    Unhappy Egg Bound???????????

A few months ago I adopted hopfully a male (Miami) to introduce to our female (Kokomo)who started nesting however the past few days she has become agitated. She is squaking way more than normal & this morn she did not want me to leave. I am now at work with the bird cam on and she is Still Squaking constantly. I am concerned she maybe egg bound however I am not sure she has actually mated because she attacks Miami when he comes close to her, altho the past week she has been less agressive towards him.
She started nesting in her travel cage which was covered with a sheet and the past few days she has been violently attacking the sheet so I removed it. She gets concerned when I get close to the travel cage. Yesterday I put shavings in it however she has not spent time in it since I had done this and prior she spent most of her time there.
I can see her vent area has gotten larger, yet she still goes into heat & Miami ignores her during this.
Kokomo is not vocal until she is distressed (afraid or wants attention) Her contant noise worriess me.

    What should I do???????

I am very relieved to say that Kokomo had laid her egg (on a sofa chair in a room they have free rein) by the time I got home from work and appears to be back to normal. I took the day off from work to watch her closely and attached the travel cage to her larger cage. I placed cardboard around the travel cage but kokomo wouldnt enter until I took it off again. She is still vocal a bit wanting my attention & Miami (father) is just hanging back watching kokomo like a hawk but never approaches nor has he tried to inspect the egg in the nursery (travel cage)
    Thank for all your Support!!!!!!

    This is an emergency...
I would get her to the vet asap!
Bird can die of this condition!
And be VERY gendle with her, not that she gets a rupture, too.

    Re: Egg Bound???????????

Bailey couldn't perch and could hardly walk. That was a huge sign something was very wrong. Watch your bird closely and if you find she can't perch... get her to a vet as soon as possible.

Hope everything goes well! The very best to you and your little Kokomo.

    Thank You Tadelle
Komomo is great I was concerned when her stool changed and she became very vocal & overly possessive of me. I am still not sure the eggs are fertile and I tried to candle them last night but I think I need a magnifying glass, for my age has caught up with my eyesight!
