    Nothing is ever easy

    My grandson wants one of the new babies. And he wants a male. So I go and check what I can expect these to be. I was pretty sure but wanted to make sure. Well here is what I should get.

    Mother:Pastelface Lutino Split To Pied
    Father:Pied Whiteface Split To {X2: Lutino}

    male offspring:
    25% Pied Split To Whiteface Pastelface (*this bird will appear to be a visual pastelface*) {X2: Lutino}
    25% Pied Lutino Split To Whiteface Pastelface (*this bird will appear to be a visual pastelface*)
    25% Grey Split To Pied Whiteface Pastelface (*this bird will appear to be a visual pastelface*) {X2: Lutino}
    25% Lutino Split To Pied Whiteface Pastelface (*this bird will appear to be a visual pastelface*)

    female offspring:
    25% Pied Split To Whiteface Pastelface (*this bird will appear to be a visual pastelface*)
    25% Pied Lutino Split To Whiteface Pastelface (*this bird will appear to be a visual pastelface*)
    25% Grey Split To Pied Whiteface Pastelface (*this bird will appear to be a visual pastelface*)
    25% Lutino Split To Pied Whiteface Pastelface (*this bird will appear to be a visual pastelface*)

    So now picking a male will be almost impossible. So I guess DNA testing is what we are going to have to do. The one good thing is I can sell the other two for about $130 each. So that will pay for the testing. Like I said nothing is ever easy.

    Well good thing about dna testing - it's easy and not too expensive - $20-$25 depending where you send the test to and how you do it - blood or feather.
