Re: what do people think>?
Maybe he moved them into the cage for the photo, so that he can get them all in one picture and so that they will be easy to catch when does he sell one. Can you upload that picture?

All you can do is post nicely to express concern. Posting rudely will just make the person flip out and defend themselves.
One can hope that the 9 birds to a cage was just done so that the birds would fit in the same picture.

Wow that's a lot in those cages! Not good! I guess they have to learn not to sit on the bottom perch or be pooped on. Eww

Meh, there also looks to be a blue crowned conure or something similar (big, green, white eyering) in the top right corner of the middle cage. Those are really crowded... I'd say each of those cages are suitable for 2, maybe 3 tiels, if you want to push it.

AHHH! Thats is ridiculous. I feel so bad for he poor birdies. I also see a semi-small green bird in the corner looking like a conure of some sort.

Well the cages are cleaned, they have toys, and different perches. I am not defending this person in any way. However maybe they dont know that the cage is way to small for all those birds.
I would have been more angry if it was small cages, and everything was dirty.
I have been to places where they would have a few small birds in a HUGE cage but the cage was soooooo filthy that poop was on the wall and on the floor. DRIED. And the poop was built up like a mound, so you know it had not been cleaned in years. / or months.
Maybe someone should send him an email, asking him about cockatiels. Pretending your buying one from him and asking him what size cage would be good a 2 cockatiels? Kinda ask him some trivia.
And then politely correct him.

I think the space is way too small. Hopefully it is only for the picture...

The poor birds. I think it is a good idea to email him about the cage size. See how much he really knows.
And I think the blue and green bird might just be a cozy corner. I can't see it too well, but it kind of looks like one. I don't think a breeder would keep a conure with his tiels.
Edit: I did zoom in and look at the pic more closely, and that is another bird up in the corner.

Well, considering the bottom of the cages are spotless, maybe it is just for photo purposes. They would have to clean the cages several times a day with that many birds..... so we can only hope they are not kept like this all the time.

At the bottom of his website it says "This site was last updated 04/23/06"... so who ever took that photo is probably no longer around to read your email, even if you did send it. So it would be a waste of your time.
If it were a newer site, I'd say go ahead and email him.
