    My parakeet eggs didn't hatch?

First let me say that I know that some people are unhappy with me being here and for that I am sorry. After re-reading that thread I now realize that the parents should raise the babies and that I should only help if they need it. I am new to this and only wanted to do the right thing for my birds etc.

Now to the question. As some of you might know that my pair of parakeets laid some eggs but sadly they didn't make it. This was my first clutch ever and I did the best that I could. The eggs was fertilized and had live babies in them and everything was going great until about 4-5 days before they were supposed to hatch. All of the eggs dried out and she tossed them out of the nest box. I just read up online that I was supposed to spray her with warm water to help keep the eggs moist.

She just laid a new egg yesterday and I want to make sure that I do everything 100% right this time. So is it true that you are supposed to spray water on the hen to keep the eggs moist?

Sorry you lost the eggs. On the bright side, now you can take the time to really research and prepare before trying to breed again. Please do so. Remove the nest box, and let mama bird rest & regain her strength/health before letting them breed again. Ideally, of course you should not breed pet store birds.
For the humidity, you can provide her a dish of water to bathe in, so she can choose when she needs the added moisture.

    Edited to say:
This line was NOT in your posted when I responded this morning "She just laid a new egg yesterday and I want to make sure that I do everything 100% right this time. " You should NOT let her double clutch, it will be very hard on her. If you care.....you know since you want to do EVERYTHING 100% right this time.
