    How to hang millet spray

How do hang millet spray? I have been using clothes pins and I never seem to get it to hang the same way twice. half the time the millet spray ends up at the bottom of the cage. What a pain..Any ideas?

Bulldog clips. I put the clip around the whole bar (so it's just hanging loose, not clipped to the bar and the millet spray) and then clip the stem of the millet spray. Hope that makes sense and hope it helps!

I use clothes pins as well and have had no problems. Why must it hang the same way each time? Believe me they will get to it no matter how it is hanging.

clothes pins here to - i put them on the side of the cage, then run the stick through the little hole of the spring on the clothes pin - helps to hold it in place so they can eat it with out it falling down

some of mine won't touch it if WE put it on the floor but if they do its fine others don't care they just want it lol

Re: How to hang millet spray

I have a millet spray hanger. It is the green one you see on this page:
    http://www.petco.com/product/100277/...ay-Holder.aspx

It only cost about $3 CAD. it's very simple to use except sometimes, you have to cut the millet a bit to make it fit.

    Hope this helps.

I just set mine on top of their cage. Sometimes they throw it down, but mostly not. (they are free to be outside their cage during the day)

But I only leave it for a few minutes, as a treat, so they dont eat too much.

I cut all mine in 1/2 or in 1/3rds to help with portions....

then I too use a clothes pin....

or sometimes a piece of hemp (from the toy supplies box) tied around the middle of the spray hung right in the middle.

Re: How to hang millet spray

My Redhead bought this weird plastic "Millet Holder" that has slots where the bird has to pick through for the millet but my Tiel who normally ravishes millet spray refused to use it. I went back to the ole binder clip method and he devoured a 9 inch spray in under 7.2 seconds (well, maybe not that fast) But I do try to make it difficult for him to get to just to watch him hang upside down and contort to get to it. Keeps him busy and gives him exercise.

I too use the binder clips... I think they work best and easiest.
