    Gomez/Vets

My Eclectus Gomez passed away the day after leg surgery. I wish I had information that would have guided me into making better decisions and knowing what to expect in a veterinary emergency.

This is dedicated to Gomez and as information for bird owners about avian vets and emergencies so parrot owners don't have to go through what my flock went through.

I'm so sorry you lost your baby. I can't imagine what I will do the day my bird dies, but I know it will be a very bad time in my life as I'm sure it has been in yours.

i read the site, very touching... its a good thing that you kept this diary, it lets us all know how not to be treated by vets.

This site is not only well-done, it is very touching and a tearjerker at that. I can't even imagine the heartache and heartbreak you had to endure. It is even more painful that this little guy never got to see his first birthday. I understand your pain and that loss is so difficult to fill. I lost one of my parakeets in a tragic accident and it killed me [still hurts me to this day] that I saved his life as a baby and he never got to see his third birthday.

I really want to thank you for speaking up for not only for Gomez, but to all the other pet owners out there that suffer similar situations of malpractice and twisted medicine from some veterinarians.

I work at a veterinary office myself and we have had cases of new clients coming in with their deceased pets for a necropsy to determine if their regular vet did something wrong. Sometimes, we do unearth things that just make you shake your head.

This really breaks my heart. I am so sorry for what Gomez, you, your son and Dante had to go through.

Gomez was the same age that my GCC Ducky is now. Just thinking about her going through this tears me apart.

Everything is documented (you are very smart to do that) - I'm glad you pursued legal action.

Also - a proper necropsy is always TYPED, as you probably know by now. I'm so sorry about everything.
