Shipping Birds???
Hi!
I am thinking about getting another bird, and very interested in getting a handfed lovebird, and as I am looking at different breeders I notice that many of them will ship birds.
Does anyone know how this works and if it is harmful?
Thank you!

Re: Shipping Birds???
I think its okay as long as the shipping company has a good reputation for shipping animals.
Its like one day of being cooped up in a box then hopefully it well be with an owner who loves it for ever and ever.
I would look around for closer handfed lovebirds.

The only legal way to ship exotics is via the airlines and you are looking at shipping costs of roughly $80.00-$100.00, depending on which airline you use. I use Continental and they do a great job. Cost is $99.00, plus fuel surcharge to anywhere in the US.
