    Sisal or cotton?

I'm making yet another play area. I'm attempting to make a Boing, though I may just buy one instead. Around that will be a hoola hoop. I've got a PVC stand already built to hang it from since we really don't want to hang anything from the ceiling.

    Sort of like this:

My question is: Should I use cotton rope, sisal or something else to cover the hoop? I really don't want to use vet wrap on this one if at all possible. The feed store is out of it and isn't ordering more and it's costly everywhere else. I have barely enough left to cover some of the stand it'll be on. Ideas...

I like jute, it's softer than sisal and not such long strands like cotton. Although if you can get supreme cotton that's best.

Just FYI, I don't really like using vetwrap around my birds/in general. I've found over time it gets really sticky and the colors start to come off, like if you pick it up the color will come off on your skin.

I already have jute! Perfect. I'll use that instead. It'll take forever to finish, I'm sure, but it'll be worth it in the end.

Indeed, Jute is much nicer. However, if you ever had a choice between cotton or sisal again, Sisal is also much safer if a birdy ingests it

sisal, just to agree w/ pp, i've read its safe if swallowed. cotton can cause impaction.
