    Lets Drink Mommys Juice

Every other day Chiquita drinks apple juice when she sits on the back of my chair, I hold the cup up to her so she can drink it.

Yesterday I got some orange juice not thinking anything and went to the computer. Chiquita let out a huge screech. And plowed down like a nut ball on the glass. I give her cups so she can drink it easily. But the orange juice was in a tall glass for myself. Of course I had to share.

So here is the little nut ball drinking from MY glass. I thought the little bugger would fall in, LOL

She sits on my desk a lot as you can see.

AND the bugger ate my painting. I could have screamed. As you can see there is a little chunk missing. Now she is trying to eat my walls.

A pic of my favourite painting that she ate, LOL. I can't get mad at the little devil though.

I see you posting a lot how Chiquita destroys things....I dunno maybe it's just me but it would probably solve the problem if you kept her away from stuff you don't want destroyed! (like keyboards, paintings)

Ducky likes to sit on top of my hand as I type but she's tiny. If she goes anywhere near the electrical components (even just the cord) she goes back to my shoulder immediately.

    The pictures, however, are adorable.

Mom to Ducky! (female cinnamon GCC)...THANK YOU Keet for the gorgeous sig!!
Won't you come see me after 12am?

Diva has taken to flying onto my curtain rod and chewing the woodwork what a brat.
I'm suprised Chiquita didn't tip the glass! Looks like a pretty heavy bird and not a whole lot of liquid in it lol. She sure is adorable

    Thanks Guys!

hahaha... as my SO would say bite her back lol... move her cage a bit away??
Actually that is my chinchillas cage, Tucker. Chiquita hung onto the side of my cage and chewed it. I now cover it with a towel.

Unfortunately there is no place to move the cage. My house is filled with cages; soon I will be living in the backyard. But now I cover that painting with a blanket.

I see you posting a lot how Chiquita destroys things....I dunno maybe it's just me but it would probably solve the problem if you kept her away from stuff you don't want destroyed! (like keyboards, paintings)

Yes, she is a destroyer. I try my best to keep things tucked away. I now have a blanket on my mirrors and pictures so now Im really starting to birdie proof. I even have a blanket on my lamp. She does it so fast and her beak is so strong so just from one bite she ruins it. But yes, she really does some damage but things are now being covered. But they get into thing you could not imagine them getting into.

Sarah, right after I took the pics I put my hand on the glass so she didn't tip it over. I just wanted to get a few pics first so I was nervous she was going to spill it. I got lucky, LOL.

    Cute pics.

How about getting really heavy duty, fun toys for her to destroy? Fresh tree branches can be a blast for birds, mine love to peel the bark but I bet Chiquita would shred through the whole things. It's good for them, too

    Yay!
    Pete loves this, too.
He even tries nasty things like coffee....

Javi is right, there might be a risk of giving
your bird your human oral flora, and there are some
nasty bacteria in there that can kill other humans
    if you bite another human....

(Thats the REAL reason why you should brush your teeth, guys!)

I have to admit, both my birds (Waiata and now Pete)
are drinking out of my cups and my water bottles,
and so far they didnt get anything from it.
But maybe the bugs are just too diluted.

    Re: Lets Drink Mommys Juice

My cockatiel used to always fly up to the molding in my kitchen for a few minutes at a time, until I got her down and back her in cage.
Over time, those few minutes she was up there added up, and she chewed a good portion of the molding over top of our oven area.

I don't know how I'm going to explain that to our landlord when we move out...

Yes, I can get her a heavy duty toy for her. For sure. Im sure she really would have fun with that. Im going out to pet smart some time this week so I will look and post pics of what I bought her.

Oh I do know that Javi donít worry I only did it once for the pics. I usually give her, her apple juice in a mug for easy access. That is just her own and not mine. It just surprised me at how fast she booked it to the glass. We never share. BUT before I new that I did share and even let her kiss me and take raisins out of my mouth. But I stopped when this forum told me what it can do.

Well I used to share things with my IRN's until this forum told me the dangers.
