    Musk Lorikeets, is it true?

well I was quite bored last night so I went breeder searching for future birds when I'm older, so there I was reading through the ads, when I saw Musk Lorikeets and Goldies Lorikeets under the same breeder They are like 2 of my top birds to own, so I gave the breeder an email and I got a reply this morning.

He basically said where he is located, he is also said he wouldn't sell goldies as pets because they are still rare in NZ so he wants to keep them for a breeding program.

So the email was fine so far , very informative, so I come to the part of Musk's Lorikeets
    this is what he said:
A hand raised Musk would cost $250 (they don’t make the best of pets)
SO here I am now, and you can probably guess what my question is. Is it true Musk's lorikeets are bad pets? Or is it false? I would really love to own one but I'm not sure what to believe.

÷Even small birds are a BIG responsibility.

All you can do is meet a few and talk to other owners of them. Some birds are harder to keep then others but that doesn't mean they can't make good pets. Since you have plenty of time to worry about it, just keep researching. Try and find owners of them and see if you can't meet them or get to know what the bird is like by talking to the owners.

Great Idea! I might do that, except they aren't the most common birds and finding owners/breeders for them is going to a real challenge, but I'll try.

I know, I have basically read only good about them, they sound like little gems but they are still rare in NZ so most/all are in breeding programs, I would really really love to have one.

I might, I'm more leaning towards the musks, possibly even Edward(?), I saw one of the breeder breeds them, but there is not much on info on the net
