Finally know what you guys mean by "vibrating lovebirds"! (Link to video added)

I have read a couple of times on this board of people talking of their lovebirds and how the can vibrate when really happy.

Although I'm sure Piper is happy, she's never really done it.

But today I finally saw what it was like!

My mom is birdsitting a grey and a lovebird. I went over today and this tiny 15 year old lovebird was soooo happy to be let out of her cage and to be on someone, she was vibrating. My parents said she did that every time they let her out. I think she might not get a whole lot of one on one attention at home.
But yeah, she was so cute and funny. I had her on her back in my hand while I scratched her head

I was afraid that some people might think of it that way
But seriously, that is the term I've seen here and quite frankly wouldn't know how to describe otherwise...maybe shaking?
I think Lauren (Skittles) is one of those who used it..might be wrong though.

Yup that was me... Elwood and Skittles both vibrate when happy, but it's also a lovebird trait

Not sure if a simple camera would be good enough to capture it though...

ah this is true. you would need something with fairly decent quality, which you dont tend to get from a digicam.

    Nope.

I'm in the process of (slowly) uploading a video of this lovebird (I think it's name was Bijou..or was it Bisou) to YouTube. Whenever it'll be ready there, I'll post the link here.

    She was a sweetheart

    Funny story about her.
She's similar to colour to Piper, although greener and lighter (she's actually the same colour as Piper's dad). My mom's lovebird at first thought that it was Piper and acted all excited like they normally do when Piper goes to visit...except this bird did not react like Piper would, confusing them a bit...she was much more interested in spending time on my dad (or mom, but I think she spends a lot more time with my dad) than with them.

What do you guys mean by "vibrating"....?? Like their whole entire body just vibrates?

Mika does something where, I guess, vibrates but he always makes this particular clicking/chirping sound when he does it... so I always thought his body "shook" to help him make that distinctive sound.

Kinda sounds of what Piper does before she goes into feeding frenzy..but it's not quite the same thing as what this other lovebird did.

Here is the link to the video I was talking about earlier.

YouTube is still working on it, so it might still look a little off (quality is improving though).

Hmmmm... I'm beginning to think Mika is a vibrating bird and I just never paid attention. He doesn't do it for very long though. Maybe 10 seconds tops, and always with that distinctive soft repetitive chirping/clicking.

    That video is soooooooooo cute!!
