Okay, it was a very sad video, and I couldn't finish it but making that statement is a bit out of line, though the people who had the birds should've had some shelter for the birds and not as many birds per cage but they are probably some people in China which are like us and are disgusted with this sort of cruelty and wish they could take all of those birds in so they didn't have to suffer and the what not,

Not meaning to start an arguement but that statement could be considered hurtful to some people,

    Just my 2cents

That is horrendous. Absolutely ridiculous. That makes me beyond mad. All those birds in one cage, Im stunned to see something like that. China also have goldfish living in bags at the market, no fish tanks but bags. I don’t know, I just wish everyone would treat their animals properly, give them love and nice big cages that is kept up and clean.

but in the majority of cases markets wont have flash cages. they cost too much.

i agree that over generalising is wrong. there are people over here who will see nothing wrong with that footage and people in china who will be appauled, just as we are.

but like i said, i could not finish it, the over crowding got to me. and i can only imagine how stressed those birds were.

and because they are too large to carry round and transport

I agree, I'm sure that probably 75% of the world thinks that those conditions are fine, possibly even more.

I couldn't either, it just about made me tear up, but that sentence kinda got to me, just imagine if you were from china and read that.

That is why i only buy from organic free range places. Yeah it costs more but dude those conditions are just feral.

    Re: isnt this harsh..

Don't be mistake by thinking it's only the eastern world that hold birds in these conditions. there are people all over the world that treat animals disgustingly. Don't get me started about mass productions of animals for slaughter. Or people who eat veal... there is not one country that can say.. we treat animals humanely. But we are the new generation that are able to change this... not by lecturing people but educating that animals should be taken care of. Teach your younger niece of nephew.. we are the ones that can make the change. We can allow these practices to die with the old generation. Horrible as it says, but it's true.

i watched the foul dinners that sammit is talking about, ever since then we always buy free range eggs.

but you do need to be careful with the supermarket free range because there are no regulations regarding free range. they can be labeled as free range but it doesn't mean it's REAL free range. At our local fruit and veg store, there are locally produced free range eggs and the farm allows you to go to the farm to check out their chickens.

i watched the foul dinners aswell.

i now go veggie once or twice a week *still under parental roof so cant go more* and we always buy free range meat it does cost more, but if we insist on eating meat. i would like to think it had a nice life, and not stressed and shoved in a cage.

regtarding free range hens and eggs we have a great company over here called Happy Egg and Hen company. All birds reared to RSPCA standards and not much more expensive that other meats... AND better tasting. and the price difference i'm talking about is pennies

Thanks Lee for the adorable sig!
