Re: conure help
That's a jenday or jendaya conure, part of the aratinga group of conures. They're about as loud as sun conures (which is LOUD) but really playful and friendly. They're very sweet and very pretty.....but as you can see, very expensive! I hope that helps a little bit!

Re: conure help
I once owned a Naday Conure for awhile. He didnt like women much so I found him a new home with some friends of my dad who's Cockatoo had just passed away. They still have that silly conure too.
I dontk now if the Nanday is as loud and the conure that your looking at but he actually wasnt verfy loud at all. Okay much louder than Bird'O but she a quite female, but about as loud as my new budgie Bender. Seriously he's wacked and loud, ohh do I love him though.
In my experience with all the birds I've had in my care over the years a pair of love birds was by far the loudest of them all. And a dove. Her cooo was so loud but at least it was soft not shirll like love birds who sound like they are having thier feathers plucked out one by one.
It really depends on the bird, I've been told. Some just like to b\make noise others dont.

Re: conure help
Yikes! $1288?! What kind of conure is this?
Bartok, my GCC is considered to be of the less loud of the conures. He is about as loud as a screaming cockatiel, but only vocalizes noisily when I haven't spent as much time with him as I usually do. Sometimes he screeches when he is alarmed, but like I said, it is usually to ask us to play with him or to say hello.

Re: conure help
It was a sun conure but looks just like the pics of the Jenday conures Kathy posted above. I couldnt belive how much it was. Preshuis little bird though. But I'm saving my conure dreams for a LESS expesive GCC. Just need to find a breeder thats all.

Re: conure help
Yeah, the aratinga conures can be very loud, but the phyrrura conures aren't so much. This includes green caps and maroon bellied conures.

Re: conure help
And remember that the loudness is purely relative....Bartok here can screech up quite a storm when excited, but it's nothing compared to his aratinga relatives!!!

Re: conure help
well the little conure is gone now someone just bought a very expesive bird. but problly worth every penny in the long run. They also sold a blue and gold macaw for 25oo bucks, but he sits in your lap and rolls on his back for you to scritch his belly. What a bird he is.
