Talking New Budgie cage!! - UPDATE

    Hey guys,

Ive ordered this cage from ebay for AUD $125. Its a great price considering this cage is sold for around $250 in my local pet store. I think its a great flight cage and my budgies will enjoy living in it when I fill it up with toys . It doesnt come with any perches or food bowl's so I will have to make another order for those. It should be arriving in the next few days! Here is a photo:.

thanks for the comments, yes it can be used as either a ferret, dog, cat or bird cage. The ladders and platforms made inside the cage are removable and I will be replcaing them with perches and food bowls.

    Re: New Budgie cage!!

hope it is a lot less, that is an inch. My tiel would stick his head out of his first parrot cage with 1 inch bar spacing right to his shoulders.

    Re: New Budgie cage!!

Oh ok thats too bad, I hope it is alot less otherwise I'll put my cockatiels in this cage and my budgies can use the cockatiels cage in which the bar spacing is around 0.5inch.

    Re: New Budgie cage!!

Cockatiels need 5/8" bar spacing maximum, which is 0.625" or 16mm. It's a good sized cage though, I hope the bar spacing's ok.

    Re: New Budgie cage!!

oh ok thats funny, do you mean escaping from the barspacing too big or just escaping from opening the door ?.

    Re: New Budgie cage!!

A budgie can squeeze between bars more than 1/2 - 3/8 inch apart.(1cm - 1.2cm) They could also get part way through, then hang themselves, or constrict their chest ...suffocating. Bar spacing is very important to bird safety.

The cage you ordered has a bar spacing of 22mm, which is over 3/4 inch. Much to wide for budgies or tiels.

    Re: New Budgie cage!!

ok thanks for the information, I'll have to see what the actual bar spacing is when the cage arrives, if its too big then I'll put my ringnecks in this cage.
