    I need more self control

so i was on kijjii looking for a bird stand and i stumbled upon a man who's selling budgies with health certificates for like 10 bucks each. well i emailed him and we got to talking and as it turns out he's the owner of an assisted living facility about 2 hours from me. so i went out to the facility and helped him out for a while just cleaning cages and helping tame down a couple cockatiels. i didn't intend to adopt i just needed a bird fix since i broke up with my boyfriend last night and was feeling a little down. at any rate i went to the parakeet cage and instantly fell in love. two birds. one looked like Keets and came right to me despite the fact that he hadn't been handled in maybe three years. and then a second that just looked at me and stole my heart. i need birdy AA. and now i need names

the one that looks like keets

    them together.

That's great that you found a breeder who allows you to come see is facility and work with him. However, sadly, health certificates (also required by airlines when traveling to states like GA and AZ, are good for only 10 days after they are dated) are worth only the paper they are written on. These certificates are obtained at the vet’s office. They do have the state seal on them as well as the vet’s contact info, but are designed to make sure dogs and cats have had their vaccinations. For birds - there is no testing. The owner brings in a cage of birds and the vet simply looks at them. The vet may take a bird out to examine it, but again no testing is done, they simply fill out the document stating that X number of birds on X date looked healthy and fills in the destination the animal(s) are going to.
