Ok, Idk if this has been done before, but...

If you were to own one animal never normally kept in captivity, money and space being no object, what would it be? Why?


I'd have an ocelot, tapir, or sloth. Idk which! I pretty much love Central America and all it's jungle life.

I used to alway want a monkey. I alway thought they were cute then I heard how dirty they are. That changed my mind real quick

ive always wanted a caracal.. omg amazing little psycho cats! i have a real skull but i want the whole thing!! alive of course haha... servals are pretty cool too.. my now favourite bird is a black lori, not commonly kept as a pet but alot of people still do.

sloths r kinda low maintenance im guessing.. but might get boring.

Old thread or not, a dragon would be great! It would make our neighbours think twice about being stupid late @ night & could make my employer rethink some of its practices.

Don't know about a sloth tho, long nails and awful personal hygiene. How about a freshwater otter?

I've heard of people keeping an otter for a pet... and I inhabit a board where one of the members has a pet anteater ^^

Well, if some people have capybaras as pets why not an anteater? How does he/she feed it? I suppose you could rent it out to people who have ant infestations ...

A phoenix would be an interesting pet too. Or a griffon.

Fruit bats are a fave, but having worked with them, the idea of FB guano, in quantity, in my home, is not a fun idea.

I'd say an orphan Eastern Canadian wolf pup. Since it's an orphan, there will be no heartbroken mothers or fathers, and since it's a pup it will be easier to bond with and train. I'm only not too sure about caring for it...

The animal I dreamed of having from the time I was a kid is a peregrine falcon. By good fortune I got a beautiful female peregrine last year. There is an incredible feeling I having the fastest animal in the world!!!
