    Play stand

I'm looking to buy a reasonably priced, and yet safe and fun, play stand for my gcc. The show I went to was very small and didn't have any available and I was only able to buy a few toys there. I'm not at all handy and I have a 2 1/2 year old son who keeps me busy so I don't really have time to buy the parts and try to assemble one myself. Does anybody know of any they would recommend? Thank you.

I love this one for my sun:

It is fairly easy to clean and can be rearranged to look different too if you/or your bird gets sick of it. The one downfall is that the plastic perches can be slippery but I wrap them in vet wrap to solve that problem. I also drape a rope perch across the front that my bird loves to sit on.

I have the amazon size too...

I love the parrot tower we have. We went for the delux version with the java perches, which all our birds love, and don't have any problems with it being slippy.

Get some PVC and build your own. 1/2" pvc wrapped with vet wrap works great!

    Thanks Liz.

Russel, I'm really not very handy and since I have a 2 1/2 year old son I don't have the time to sit down and try to figure things out. Maybe when he's older I can try making some, but at this time everything has to be quick and easy for me because he's a real handful.

    Re: Play stand

I have a table top parrot tower with java branches. It's okay, but my birds pretty much only use the top perch (well, my meyers will use a swing that I hung from it).

Honestly, my GGC is happy if he has a boing (rope coil with wire in the center of the rope) to sit on, rather than perches on a stand.

There aer some neat ones here too:

if yoru willing to spend a little more for something that will last a long time, is realitivly easy to clean and has its own stand, I recommend this one:
    http://www.windycityparrot.com/Merch...roduct_Count=6

also if your order from windy city, above playstand, you get free shipping and if you go to the home page there is a code for 15% off first time buyers for there. so thats a pretty good deal for that stand alone.

Have you ever played with Leggos? Or tinker toys? PVC is pretty much the same thing It's SUPER easy! BUT with a little boy, fair enough.

    Re: Play stand

Oh, I've played with Leggos and tinker toys, in fact we have mega blocks and I have a PVC dog bed and dog jumps, but with a 2 1/2 year old little boy who likes to help mommy with everything....I'd have to kill myself eventually LOL

    Re: Play stand

I do want to say thank you for the PVC suggestion....I will most likely do that when my son is a bit older, maybe even let him do it since he loves the birds, but my PVC dog bed cracked and broke on one of the corners and I just now realized from this post that I can replace the broken pieces instead of getting a whole new bed.
