I just bought a new cage!

I'm so excited! I just bought a HQ Flight cage!

I'm getting a new kitty next week and I think that if the budgies are in a free-standing cage, it might be harder for her to harass them. Right now, their cage is on a table and it's very easy to jump up on it, and then on top of the cage itself. Don't want that.

I have a question for anyone who has ordered this particular cage from birdscomfort.com: The color options include "brass", which seems a little odd. How can it be powder-coated if it's brass? Has anyone ordered the "brass" color? Is it shiny, metallic brass, or just light brown? I ordered the "platinum" color, but I'd prefer light brown...it's not too late to change my order...

I'm so excited! My girls are going to be so happy!

Well i think it's just the 'color' brass, not actual brass. I have an HQ Flight Cage (i got mine from birdscomfort too) but i got mine in black so i don't know the actual color, but looking at the picture of the color it looks like it will be a tanish color

That's kind of what I'm thinking. I wonder why they call it "brass" and not "beige".... I changed the order.

"Brass" is just the color name of the perfectly safe paint... (I asked the same question once upon a time)

It should just be called Sandstone.

    Closer up of the cage:

    True to color shot:

    HQ Bird Cages Toxicology Report
    http://www.mybirdcage.com/cage_toxicology_report.html

The paint that is used by HQ Bird Cages contains only ultra-safe levels of toxic elements. It's well known that the white color paint contain heavy metals, for instance zinc. The white color paint which HQ Bird Cages work with has been tested at Louisiana Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory. The results after the testing showed a level of zinc content 80 ppm, which is a more than safe level. The maximum safe content of zinc is considered to be 270 ppm.

For lead, the black paint tested the best.... but all colors were below 2.5ppm of lead (*<250 is considered safe)

Awesome! Thanks for posting the pictures. It's a nice cage and that is exactly the color that I want. Can't wait for it to get here!

Now I may have to get more budgies!

They are great cages. I had five in one cage at one time, and it was just the perfect size. Post pictures of the setup once you get it?

Absolutely! I've decided that I'm going to rescue a couple of budgies, once I get everything all settled.

Oh, good for you. I've rescued two budgies once when a friend of mine didn't want to take care of them anymore. I swear they wear in a 12x10x20 cage. Not exaggerating.
