On my first day of healthy eating after a horrible two month junk food eating binge..
...I get a box full of goodies from my mom, with stuff I used to love as a kid.

Its too late for you. You have a box of goodies. Thanksgiving is coming. And then Christmas.
Save it for the New Year's Resolutions! Get. Thee. Some. Cookies!

Lol, you could always try locking it away in a cupboard and losing the key. Probably wouldn't work though.

I am thinking like Danielle, there is almost no way possible to avoid all them really good things out there during the holidays, you are doomed Dan.
Yummy Mom things are always the best things.

Hehe Vinnie got me some candy the other day and it was so sweet because it was one of my favorite snacks but soooo bad for me. So I just threw it away. If it sits in my cupboard, it gets eaten!!
But I agree with others. It's the Holidays....

If you can have self restraint and have only a small amount every so often instead of gorging yourself it should be OK.
Dan, DAN! You listening? Put the cookie box down!
Before you ask, yes I am a b!tch...
But I am an honest b!tch.

Guys ... Do NOT throw goodies in the trash.
You will inevitably have to fish them out later, and that is just gross.

Haha eew dumpster diving? When I get cake or whatever at work, I dump it in the trash upside down, or throw the chips out of the bag into the trash, then the bag away.

It would never make it as far as the dumpster here. If I'd put the box of chocolates in the kitchen trash, I'd have repented of my heresy within the hour.
I have thrown out halves of pies and cakes before, though. I love to make them, but there are only two people in our household. So we never finish them.

Everyone has their junk food cravings.
But if you're trying to become fit, stay in shape, lose weight etc... then don't eat it.
It's not that hard to resist things. Throw them out That way they're not in the cupbard staring you in the face and you don't feel obligated to eat them. If you have the urge to go dumpster diving to get them, crush them up, put water on them, ketchup and all other things that wouldn't go good with sweets/junkfood, then you wont touch it
You can try setting aside one day of the week as your "cheat" day. My dad's is Sunday. He can eat whatever he wants on that day. Doesn't mean he binge eats himself into obesity, but he simply doesn't have to worry about if it will ruin his healthy eating plan.
Yes it's the holiday season too... so don't feel like you have to stuff your face... at dinners, just put enough on your plate to cover the plate, not stack it high. When dessert rolls around, if you're sitting beside someone you know, ask them for a spoonful of their pie/dessert.

I should do this. It makes sense for people like me that are bad at self control when it comes to certain things. I can still get my fill and eat healthy all week while looking forward to my yummy day.
I wish people would stop buying me junk food.

If you feel you must be rid of it to avoid temptation, donate rather than throw it away. There are always hungry people in need of food; they don't mind if it is 'goodies that will make you fat'!
