Hi all, Just an update on Koda

i took him and Paulie to the vets today, just for a general MOT and to see whats what

and the vet had a good look at Koda and told me that, for all intents and purposes, he is a 1 and a half winged bird, (likening it to human arms) on his left wing he has no bone from the elbow down. Good news though that other than that he is tip top and healthy, he just doesnt actually have the ability or the part of the wing to grow flight feathers on that side..............so with a very heavy heart i had to have the other wing clipped. he keeps getting about 7 inches high and falling off things so its better for him.

so there we go, 2 healthy birds with 3 1/2 wings

Even without half a wing little Koda is just so precious and he will be just fine. Animals adapt so well with these kinds of things. I always turn to mush when birds have a disability because they are just way to sweet to have anything wrong with them.

How is Paulie? Little Paulie is a sweetie too.

Paulie is just as wonderful as ever, the vet gave him a clean bill of health, clipped his claws a tiny bit (and i couldnt help feeling a little smug) she said she used to breed lovebirds and that he was the sweetest thing she had ever seen, she was holding him on her finger looking at him, and i said "kisses paulie" and he gave her a kiss, you could just see her heart melt, its SOOO lovely that he loves all humans, he thinks hes a human himself i think XD
