Maxi has a new home

He is staying with April, who fostered him while I was moving last year. I brought him back to my house for awhile, and it was just obvious he was not happy. So he went back to her....and he is so much happier. I'm bummed because I feel like he doesn't like me, but I think it's more that he didn't like my roomates or my other birds. April just loves him, she calls him her little favorite and was overjoyed when I said she could keep him.

It's bittersweet and took me so long to decide. I probably should have made this decision earlier but... I guess I was just hoping he would take to me like he took to her.

I admit, I kinda cried like a wuss when I made the decision. Then, when I was saying bye, I tried to give him a kiss and he took a swipe at me, which made me feel worse. So I am feeling a little bummed right now.

Its ok Hillari, you would be a freak of nature if you didn't feel anything. I don't know the story behind Maxi, but I'm sure you loved him very much. You made the best decision for the bird. You put yourself last and your pet first. Thats what all good pet owners do. Bottom line.

It's okay, thanks guys. In all honest I should have done this a long time ago, I guess I was just holding out on him bonding to me like he did to her.

Aw, I'm so sorry Hillari. You made one of the hardest choices a pet owner ever has to make, but you did the right thing putting Maxi before yourself. *hugs!*
