    Aloe water

I use a lot of aloe with my birds. I only use whole aloe (minus spines) in my mash. This is my recipe for aloe water:

Find aloe from a pesticide free place. My Ma has loads of it so I am lucky.

Wash in white vinegar and hot water.

Trim pines and fillet skin off, like you would a fish until you only have the sticky clear aloe pulp left. This takes a bit of practice, unless you like to fish.

Save all aloe pulp in small clean bowl. Once all leaves are filleted blend in processor until pale, viscous liquid is achieved.

Transfer into clean container (bottle) and mix with water. I tend to use less water because I routinely spike my birds water with it (about every two weeks) and my son and I also drink it mixed with juice. I do about 30% aloe 70% water. Shake vigorously before using. use within a few days of making.

Great used as a spray for feather issues and also for ailing birds in their water. Has mild anti bacterial properties. DO NOT use for more than one week as a water treatment because it has a diuretic effect. I tend to do one day aloe water/one day ACV water with my guys, when ailing.

And, if you don't have access to your own aloe, you can buy pure aloe juice at Trader Joe's in the States
