So sorry for the loss of Sydney. He looked like a great little fella. Sending you lots of hugs.![]()
Quite honestly, I guess I never thought I'd be posting this. Never really hit me that he'd go at some point.
Sydney (also known as Syd, lil guy, putz, etc etc) passed away this morning. He was just over nine years old.
I can still remember when I got him. He was the runt in the corner, looking like he was afraid of everything. Something caught me about him. Somehow I just knew he was a little bastard in disguise.
Sure enough, the lil guy was. The cuttle-bone refusal, the off/on switch, the toy fiasco in which the only thing he truly enjoyed playing with was my cat. Everything about him was 'putz' to the 'T'. He was my putz. He will be missed.
Almost a decade little man, fly free. We've got everything on lock here.

Thanks guys. It's a bit surreal at the moment. Not used to not hearing him.. it'll take some getting used to.
True, although I'm pretty sure syd's version of heaven would include nothing but cats... seriously hah.look on the bright side, he'll be pestering and pi**ing off the other birds up there in heaven.
It's a bit awkward, my cat's been meowing for him, trying to figure out where he is. He used to imitate her half-meows (not sure if you knew the story, cat can't properly meow).
Gonna take some getting used to...
Awwww sorry to hear Greg. That's what sucks with a lot of our companion animals. The fact that they just don't live long enough, and we do outlive most of them. It's a part of your life that is now gone, and it is tough for those of us left behind (getting used to the quiet). The only thing I can say (which won't help much right now anyways) is that time does, and will heal.
R.I.P. Sydney
