Bad Morning

Oh what a bad morning. I was cleaning my tanks and got the gravel vacuumed up and when I went to switch it on to fill the switch snapped and broke and I got water everywhere. I have three tanks and did a 50% water change. I had to fill all the tanks up with a bucket. It took forever. I got it done though. Im going to go get the switch at pet smart this morning for it but what a bummer. Im pooped out from it.

But I did a little re-decorating. I took one of the decorations out to give the pleco more swimming room since he’s huge and clumsy. Plus the barbs need more swimming space and it was a bit to cluttered.

My tank is not green, I don't know why it turned up like that in the pics.

ha ha I like how the pleco is sucking on a cucumber. Too bad about your switch. I can't imagine cleaning the tanks you have. I get lazy with the 20 gal I have.

I do weekly water changed on my 10, 29 and 55. I re-fill with buckets, and it's such a pain! I wanna get one of those 30ft python things that goes directly from your sink to your tank.

Sorry it broke! What a bummer....

Sorry to hear about the python....they really need to start making those connectors all out of metal.

I still use buckets, but I cheat and empty with a 1" hose, and refill using a 3000 gph pump...plus lugging the buckets is good exercise. I can usually do a 50% change (about 180 gallons) on my 6 tanks in just under 90 minutes.

You do have a very nice tank, nice job!

I got rid of my 20gal tank, cause I couldn't manage it.
Thats alot of work, I can only imagine!

I found another switch at Big Al’s, Im ordering it today. They did not have them at pet smart yesterday. I will probably order a bunch of stuff at Big Al’s, I always go crazy online, lol. He really is a huge pleco, I had him since he was a baby. Years and years. It’s a lot of work cleaning them but it’s worth it in the end.

Oh wow, get yourself a python. Im serious, you will be amazed. It is so much easier. I just couldn’t do it without a python. I can’t imagine vaccuming the bottom without a python.

Oh I TOTALLY agree, they really should make them with metal. That would be great. But they have to make them the cheap way but at least I found one. I was nervous because I didn’t want to buy a whole new vacuum when all I needed was a little part.

Did you have a python and vacuum?
