Senegal sexually frusterated?
I think my Senegal Risa may be sexually frustrated, but I'm not sure
She does this thing where she tenses up, hold her wings out a little, shakes her head and makes thing squeeky noise. At first I thought she might have an itchy beak. Her feet get warm when this happens too. She has also been kind of grumpy lately as well, which is my main concern.
I keep referring to Risa as a she, but we don't have her/him/? sexed.
does this sound like a mating dance type of thing? What's the best way to get my bird back to its normal happy self? I know that it is said to ignore it, and I do, but she still keeps doing it.

Re: Senegal sexually frusterated?
Don't have a Senegal but my single female tiel puts her crestback, crouches down, keeps her wings close to her body & cheep-cheeps when she has hopes of my mating with her. And that happens when I'm doing dishes at the sink, not when I'm even petting her.

Re: Senegal sexually frusterated?
This is common. Just let him/her work it out on their own. Don't encourage or discourage it because it's natural. Chiquita went threw a phase like that, I just ignored it until he stopped.
