    Aviary help please

We are totally new to keeping birds so any advice is apprecitated and accepted.
We are looking at getting a cockatiel (or two) and trying to work out what sort of cage is best. Quite likely that they will be kept outside on the patio, but could come in to an indoor cage if needed (?).

    Would this be suitable

I'm assuming that where you live is warm enough to keep birds outside all year around but is there somewhere you can put the cage if there is a cold snap? Your cage appears to be the size of the one my tiels (6) are in but the difference is that mine are inside and are allowed free flight in the living/dining rooms of the house.

My worry would be that wildlife could somehow get into the cage not to mention the fact that I'd be afraid of my tiels having nightfrights from wildlife (or dying of fear). I'm also not sure about how they'd do if they had to walk on the wire at the bottom, since they do like to ground forage.

You'd probably need a shed, or area for sleeping and warmth with heat and light. I'm no expert though!

our birds sleep outdoors but on a porch in a corner...we cover with thick blankets during winter and a sheet in summer but nsw in oz doesnt freeze over on the coast
make sure it faces the right way to get sun in the morning
    birds need light
and protection from wind and rain
make sure the cage cant blow over
even bigger unsecured aviaries can flip in wind

as for the mesh...put down lots of newspaper and change daily
place perches on both sides so the tiels can flit from perch to perch and make sure they can get around each other

    inspect cage for rust

tiels chew on wire...ive caught mine at it
