Re: Meet Nana & Cloud and their babies Squall,Ruby
I'd say that Nan is a lutino but couldn't tell you about Cloud. They make a very handsome pair. Can't tell you about the babies either but they're sooo cute! Congrats!

Re: Meet Nana & Cloud and their babies Squall,Ruby
Nana is lutino she has red eyes...when light is shined on them.
Cloud i was told pied...but he has white spots on back and is developing more yellow down his belly and also moving down back of his neck.
any ideas on Cloud?

Re: Meet Nana & Cloud and their babies Squall,Ruby
I would say cloud is a pied. However in saying that he could be split for pearl, luntino, and cinnamon. If you have any Luntino babies they could be male or female. Pearl or Cinnamon chicks would be hens as far as I know.
NIchole is owned by 12 budgies Summer, Shadow, Autumn, Kalipso,Clover, Boo, Luna, Bam Bam, Pebbels, Bandit, Kinder and Aaron. 3 cockatiels (Moon, Dusty and Pepper) as well as 2 dogs (Sonic and Buddy)
RIP Sampson my puppy you will never be forgotten! You were a good dog and an amazing companion. I miss you so much! XOXOX 08/14/08-03/27/10

Did you get the warm oatmeal feeling when you picked up Ruby & Squall? It was the closest description I could give to how it felt. The babies are adorable and one is looking like a lutino but then I'm biased and don't know everything there is to know about tiels. Your family looks like it is doing well. Something about the creation of life is just a wonder isn't it? (Don't mean to get sappy on you but bird babies are soo tiny and fragile)

Then you'll have to prepare yourself for the "leaps of faith" when your babies start flying. They'll follow mom & dad and will be watched over very carefully. I have a big sappy smile on my face ....

itch, I haven't seen any posts from you for a while - how are the kids doing? By now you are probably going through the "leaps of faith" or getting pretty close to it.

Re: Meet Nana & Cloud and their babies Squall,Ruby
another quick couple of questions..
when babies start to fly,and are fully feathered, can they be moved into a cage?
i thought you could.
also do they also need water on cage floor or is water in formula enough water for them?
ill be placing food in bowl on cage floor but was wondering about water supplied.
thanks

I'm glad Ruby and Squall are doing so well - usually the babies are pretty independent once they have their feathers and can fly. Honestly can't answer your question about water in their cage since mine were parent fed but I'd imagine that a small bowl of water wouldn't do any harm.
And yes, tiels can be quite prolific once they get the hang of "it".

I love the picture above of Squall or Ruby with there little bibs on them, it is one of the most precious pictures I have seen in a long time. I have not been looking at the pictures because my internet has been stinking with all the storms we have lately so today is the first time i have been able to look at them and your babies are too cute. Just so bright and yellow and they seem to be so happy too. Thanks for posting the pics of your cuties!
