    Backyard Galah Cam Australia

I posted in Introductions but wanted to make sure this live streaming bird cam was seen here in General discussions.

G'day, I am Peacheyroo from Goulburn Australia and I have a webcam that streams live. You will see Sulfer Crested Cockatoos and Galahs (rose breasted Cockatoos) feeding daily.

Thankyou to Dan who was kind enough to let me share my backyard here on his site. Be sure to return here to share your experiences while viewing my cam

Nice clear cam! I know nothing about these birds so what are they eating?

In CA all our birds are...brown. Sometimes we get...dark brown...or...light brown.

Also: your cam quality is so good and I appreciate hearing the sound too. Right now at noon the birds must be taking a nap, but I am just enjoying the landscape I see.

During the summer days they seem to be either resting or feeding off the natural fruits as the trees have just recently fruited. They return in the afternoon. I am currently showing 3 of my lovely arab horses so enjoy

I know Australia is a strange place, but you dont have rectangular fruit trees do you? I was wondering what those big things on the ground were.

I was thrilled to see the birds suddenly swoop into camera just now.

Your crack me up Cheaps!! Real funny fruit trees there.

I was wondering the same thing about what you feed them because it looks like a big hunk of something and yesterday when I was watching it I could actually hear the big white cockatoo cracking whatever he was eating. I never seen the pink toos on the picture above and now will have to really try to see it when morning arrives there, I peeked just now and it is still dark in Australia but soon the sun will be coming up.

I'ts only 6 am but the sun's rising.

I was thinking concrete parking blocks but I don't think galahs would go for those ....

I know. Those are giant Granola bars.

The other thing I noticed about the landscape, is that except for the trees not being live oaks, it looks very much like central California!

Eucalyptus maybe? Was lucky enough to make it to Tasmania in '85 and it was just gorgeous. Still kick myelf for coming home at that time.

Greats pics there Cheaps (thumbs up) Those are wild bird mix seed blocks. They go through about 8 a day on average and they also eat loose wild bird seed mix... I buy 25kgs and that lasts a week on average also.

55 lbs. of wild bird seed a week give or take. Nice setting, I obviously live in the wrong place.

Wow and I thought 20 lbs of seed in 3 to 4 weeks was feeding lots. I see the toos? (Big white ones with yellow crests?) and galahs right now. They are so dang cute!!

    Re: Backyard Galah Cam Australia

Sulphur crested cockatoos (?) and we only see them here as pets. I've seen 1 galah at one of my small local fairs.

I agree Deanna, we're spoiled though we go through 20 lbs in a week to a week and a half depending on the vermin (like squirrels).
