EMERGENCY ~ Help Needed ! CALGARY ALBERTA PLEASE HELP !

Me and My Family Found an Abandoned Cockatiel shut in an Box on the Side of The Street in the Freezing Cold Yesterday . She was Shivering and Gasping for Air as the Box was Sealed Tight.
We Currently have no Cage for the Bird and Are Asking if Anyone has An Spare of any kind at Home , we dont have a Huge Budget and Are Struggling to get her a Reasonably Priced checkup from the Avain Vet So we know Shes safe to stay With us and Our Other Pets , If You Know Anyone Who Could Help Us with That Please Contact Me.
She is Currently Staying Under an Crate , Its not safe For Us to Mix Her in with Our other birds Cage as They are Two different Species but Also Unsure if shes 100% Healthy.

What kind of other birds/pets do you have? I am really glad you picked the bird up. I'm in Arizona, US, so I can't help you with a cage... just keep her in a room separate from your other birds until you can either see a vet with her, or quarantine her long enough, and you should be fine... taking WILD birds into your home is far more hazardous than taking a cockatiel in. I've taken wild birds in, kept in separate room, and been fine with that. She could not have been outside very long without dying, so she is unlikely to carry any dread diseases, unlike a wild bird. Bless you too, BirdyMum. I am sure you will hear from others on the forum, meanwhile, don't worry too much. Feed her and keep her warm, as I'm sure you will.

Also, I truly hope that whoever taped this bird into a box and abandoned her on the street gets to experience whatever form of Hell they believe in.

How could anyone be so cruel to a little bird, this is one of the worse things I have heard done to bird. Karma will get them, and hopefully it will get them in the worst kind of way because this is just such a awful thing.

Thank goodness you found the bird and took it to your house and it is now safe and warm. I live far away from you and dont have a cage for you anyways but perhaps if you call the avian vet and ask them they may have one there that someone donated to them. Or maybe a bird rescue in your area may have a cage that they can let you use if you tell them the story of how you got this poor tiel.

We should be the ones thanking you for saving this cockatiel, I am so happy your found it before the poor thing froze out there.

Yes , ive contacted numerious places , But ive heard nasty things about the Calgary Humane Society... I Dont know i think ille have to give her up ..
Ive had no luck Honestly , with the cage or avian vet.

Look on Kijiji. There are TONNES of VERY cheap cages on there. Even if you have to spend $50 for a starter cage, still worth it

How did you know anything was in the box? Its upsetting that someone would just dump an animal out in the cold like that. You can find cheap cages on kijiji.com or craigslist.com. I found ALL of my cages on craigslist.com for $50 and under. My 7ft tall aviary came from there and it was only $50! I hope the little guy pulls through!
