Trouble with "Thanks"

Whenever I hit the "Thanks" button on the bottom left of a post, I get a screen telling me I can't do that... lack of privilege or whatever. How come, and how to fix it???

You're not the only one because I've run into that also. So I guess both of us are part of the "unprivileged"? I think I've just ended up posting a thanks for the comment.
