Gorgeous baby. How long til he gets a new cage? I would suggest taking him in the shower with ya. Birds come out of a shower looking better than if they had be misted with a bottle.
I adopted him from a coworker. I picked him up this morning and he seems to be adjusting. I can't wait to get him a new cage though, this one is horribly tiny. His poor tail is frayed because it always hits the bars no matter how he stands.
he is very sweet he is molting and these pinfeathers are hurting my heart because I know they are itchy but he wouldn't let me pet him just yet.
he found a peanut
When I stuck my hand in there he actually stepped up on it.beat:

Life without birds, is not a life I could live
Oh poor thing, I wouldn't even put a budgie in that cage.
I just want to preen those pin feathers for him. He looks precious. I'm glad he found a good home.![]()

Gorgeous bird! As everyone else has said, I'm glad he found a good home! What won Amira over and let me scratch her neck was popcorn. I buy bags of popcorn kernels, put about 1/4 - 1/3 cup in a brown paper lunch bag, staple it shut, then microwave for about 2-3 minutes. (This is MUCH healthier than microwave popcorn.... those bags have metals which produce harmful chemicals in the microwave... just FYI.)
Anyway, my birds LOVE to eat popcorn (unsalted and unbuttered of course), and Amira first let me scratch her neck when she was eating some popcorn off my chest one evening. That was our bonding moment. You may want to try this... food is a universal and cross-species sign for love, haha.

Very nice looking little fellow you have there! I just love the way he holds that peanut. It seems birds are all lefties, did you ever notice?
He found a good home. He's so lucky! Lots of happiness to both of you.

If birds of a feather flock together... don't stand under them!!!!
Thanks everyone! He is a sweetheart. I heard him talk the first time yesterday he said "hi" and then made kissing noises. I got him a new cage. Not as big as I wanted but I will upgrade eventually.
