cute and funny things your conure does

Everyones conure has them.! Its the funy and cute things your conure does! What are some things your conure does that make you laugh or just say "awww"

Some things my conure does:
* whenever he is done with his bath he wants to craw into my hand and waits for me to open my other hand and rubs his head alll over it!!

* when he is tired he will take his head and rub the bottom of my chin

* when he is feeling lovy he will rub his head on my neck

I haven't had Neelix long but there's a few things he does.

- He runs up my arm when the cage isn't even half open and nudges himself against my neck under my hair. If he gets scared or doesn't want to be bothered, me moves to the back of my neck and snuggles under my hair.

- He grabs onto his coconut and hangs upside down while it spins around, then he kinda freaks out and jumps all over the cage. XD

Well the newest thing is that QT Paika is starting (as of today) to say "pretty bird", not very clear but very definate

Squeak has a couple. He'll situate himself under my chin and nibble my lips and chin while making kissy noises if he wants scritches.

He sneezes (which is cyute) but not as adorable as his 'evil laugh' (both of these he got from me, corrupting birds one sound effect at a time). Speaking of laughing, he'll attack the cats when they get too close and laugh while doing it.

If I'm on my computer and he's on my shoulder he likes snuggling up to my neck, preening my hair all over him. The cutest thing, however, would be when he rubs his face and neck against yer neck/ear.

I have to get a picture of this one: He has a rope toy (kinda looks like a mop) near his boing and it's his fav. He'll play with it a bit then stick his head through it so it looks like he's wearing a bad wig. Hilarious.

For all of Rosie's quirks, she's been really cute lately. Mostly it's stuff she says, she's very vocal.

Me: Rosie, whatcha doin'?
Rose: Nuthin...*looks both ways like she's expecting something*

One day Dori got on her cage while she was on mom's shoulder, and we asked her what she thought about that, and she answered "That's okay".

And it's really annoying but if you don't have to hear it for yourself it's really cute - our apartment looks out over a seldom-used parkinglot for overflow parking from when there were businesses in the building behind ours, and every time someone walks around or drives through she does this loud screeching alarm call as if to warn us about invaders.

At the moment, what I find very cute and funny is the way Kiwi tries to get my husband's attention. Kiwi is in LOVE with my husband!

Kiwi loves scritches, and sometimes he'll lift a wing to get a scratch under there as well. So cute you just can't resist!!!

Dreamer will fly to me from wherever "he" is in the room. I think it is cute. He is starting to explore a bit more on his own but still wants to be with me (He is 2 months).

He will flutter off me to go poop on the carpet and then return to me.

I have a whistle sound for the recall and when he is in his cage he repeats my whistle, lol! Tripped me out the first time I heard him.

He does some other weird, curious and yet cute behaviors that I find highly entertaining but they are not frequent enough to be much of a trait.

One of the cutest things Jack does is he has a toy with a bell on the end. He gets hold of the clapper, with the bell over his face so all you can see is his eye and he talks to himself non-stop. It looks and sounds really precious! Other times he will take the same bell in his foot and put it on his head like a hat and just sit there with it on his head, looking very "festive". LOL!

One of the cutest things Corky does is when I'm leaving in the morning, I think he's trying to keep me from leaving, but once I tell them bye and I'm going to work he starts in with one thing after another like this:

We just adopted a 6 mo old gcc 3 weeks ago. Sassy is just so funny, she'll take her ball and put it on her chest while laying on her back and roll with it! When she's not playing I dropped it, you pick it up game that she got my daughter trained at. She walk with her ball over the edge of her cage and drop it, then she'll sqawk and look at the ball, then at you so you can pick it up. Its hilarioius!

As Neelix gets older he does a few more silly things I thought I should share here. :] He has learned a few phrases but his favorite is "thank you" - I'll tell him to shut up and he says thank you, I'll tell him I'm gonna beat him up and he says thank you. My boyfriend told me it would be funny if he learned shut up and then said "Shut up! .. Thank you thank you!" Haha. To be fair, I normally tell him to "quiet down"

I also gave him a water bottle cap recently (well there's three kickin' around) and he'll go out of his way to get them. If he's on my hand and the cap is on my bed he'll lean all the way down, hang upside down, and grab it. The funny thing about this? Most of the time he drops it anyway. He even grabs it from me if I have it and will bite at my finger to get it from me if I don't let go, only so he can drop it. Silly bird.

How cute! I'm looking forward to seeing my 2 month old sun conure do more cute things, lol.

He does something really cute already.
I got him when he was 6 weeks old. I researched about conures (he's my first conure) and read that mama conure will turn the babies on their backs to feed them. Then she preens around and in their mouths to clean them up. I also learned that conures love to snuggle next to each other or a stuffed toy or a birdie snuggie.

So, I began to do this: After he got his formula, I took a small towel and 'swaddled' him in it on his back. I kept softly saying 'baby' to him while I held him cradled in my arms. I also scritch his beak and surrounding feathers, kind of immitating mama conure. Connor would fall right to sleep. When he fell asleep, I'd take him, still wrapped in the towel on his back and put him in his little birdie tent. He'd sleep for hours.

Well, a week later, he began to say 'baby' whenever he wanted to be swaddled. If I hold a towel on my arm, he flies right on it and says 'baby'. He thinks that 'baby' means to be swaddled and put to bed. LOL

He still does it. He'll sleep all night on his back, all swaddled in his towel in his tent.

I love it when he does this!! My little baby boy!

That's him next to my baby cockatiel that I got when he was 2 weeks old. They both came in at the same time from the same breeder. Nice that they're the same age!!

In San Francisco, there have been two flocks of conures in the city. One group was in Telegraph Hill mainly, and they flew around to many parts of city during day. Other group was around 23rd and Dolores Street in the palm trees on street. The Dolores group was yellow and less in number. I used to see the Telegraph Hill flock on the 200 block of Greenwich Street.

LOL! Just make sure you don't wrap the bird in the towel. I just kind of place one end on top of him, then fold the other side on him, too. I don't wrap him like a burrito, LOL!!!

..Oh, and one more funny thing my conure did today. I bought one of those Come Along small animal carrier and left one side unzipped and put one of Connor's towels in it. He walked in it and said 'baby', which means he recognized it as a place to sleep, since it had his towel in it. So, when it came time for his morning nap, I swaddled him up and put him in his new 'bed'. He's still sound asleep in it! LOL

Whenever Rosie wants attention, she's started walking through the house until she finds one of us now, but she won't come right up to me. She'll look at me, start mumbling, and pick at the carpet like she's "just checking to see if there's anything good here".

And every time I put my work pants on now, all I hear is "Bye-bye! Bye-bye. Bye-bye. BYE BYE!!!"... she likes pushing me out of the house.
