Thank you. Im trying to find out if he is a dutch blue or a sea green of some sort. I tried to make sure I got a good pic of his rump.

Congratulations! He's a very pretty little fid - I love the colours on him. I think Petri actually fits him quite well.

^ I agree. When Zuri (dutch blue) was a baby her head was much grayer.

Super cute and congrats! Let us know how everything goes!

Re: Finaly! I was able to bring Petri home!

Everything is going great! Ive had him for a week now and already I have taught him to step up! It still makes those little baby chirps when I come to ask it to step up, but after the second time he does. Its probably just him still getting used to being in a different place. Oh and he is already playing in the foraging basket I made! Ill put all the toys in the basket and about a hour later they are all over his cage LOL.

Re: Finaly! I was able to bring Petri home!

Ive noticed that Petri's feet are marbled. They are a seagreen and a grey color. Can anyone tell me if that is normal or just a baby thing? You can see what Im talking about in the first picture link. Any info would be great!

LOL sounds like Zuri. Her favorite thing to do is toss things onto the ground like a toddler, and she expects me to pick them up for her.

My Abu is a dutch blue pied and his feet are pretty odd looking, marbled gray, pink and yellow-ish. I think it just has to do with the mutation, but I don't think it's much to be concerned about. Jellybean (baby) has grey feet but also has 1 toe the same light yellow-ish color as his dad Abu's toes (I think may he's verrry light pied??).

Re: Finaly! I was able to bring Petri home!

LOL ok so maybe Petri is a light sea green pied? It would make sense because he clutch mates consisted of 2 seagreens, a heavy pied, and 2 lutinos (not sure on the last two) there were two yellow ones that had a cream face, no peach like a lutino. I guess Ill have to wait till the molt to see if any other colored feathers come through.

Re: Finaly! I was able to bring Petri home!

Maybe, this is just me guessing, lol. There are also individual differences with birds, ex. I can tell all my green babies apart by their slightly different blues on their rumps.

Since there were seagreen babies in the clutch I'm guessing those last two might have been 'creamino' (a combo of blue + lutino), it would explain the light faces. Or maybe very heavily pied + blue like my Abu. Of course, all just guessing from me. Educated guesses but still guesses...
