    Taking a Bath

Hey guys, I was so excited today my cocktail finally took a good bird bath. I have had him for 3 months and I have offered him so many times ways to take his baths. Since I've gotten him I've tried filling a spray bottle with water and spraying it above him so it sprinkles over him and everytime I did it he would just shake his head like it was bothering him and that was it. So I tried offering him a little dish with a little bit of water in the bottom for him to take a bath in. He didn't go near the dish. He would try to take his baths in his water dish but he is way too big to do so and it only really got his tummy a little wet. Finally, I'm so happy, today I sprayed him with the squirt bottle again and he loved it! He was on the top of his cage at the time so I unfortunately got his cage a little wet but he spreaded out his wings and puffed all up and started cleaning his feathers and singing. I was so glad. Success!

Congratz Caitlin! i know the feeling. It took mine a few weeks to get used to it. The spray bottle that is and eventually he did the same thing yours did. its cute huh? lol Tonight was the first time i had him in the bathroom with me while i was in the shower if he wasnt he was calling for me non stop well i was washing my face and he flew on my head and spread his wings and puffed up lol chirping so happily. He loved it. I dont want him to get used to that though and made sure he wasnt around when i used soap. But after he got soaked he just perched on a towel on the towel rack and started grooming. Cutest thing ever
