Rude wake up
Woke up this morning to the bed moving like Powder was up on it - but he wasn't. Got up to look for him and he was inside our box spring. He'd chewed through the cloth underside and jumped between the wooden slats to get up in there. Removed everything from the bed, took the mattress off, lifted up the box springs and was able to coax him out. Then he spent 20 minutes running around hiding behind things because I was trying to pick him up to put him out the bedroom, since I don't want him going back in the box springs. BAD BUNNY! Now I have to go buy some wire mesh to staple to the underside of the box springs so he can't do that again. And I thought the bird was bad about getting places he shouldn't be.

Re: Rude wake up
Thanks for a good laugh Marie. Bad Powder for chewing a hole through your box spring. Just think if you didnt know he was there you would have been searching everywhere for him because who would think a bunny would hide out there. Silly bunny!

Re: Rude wake up
They both love to find obscure hiding places - last time I couldn't find him he had shoved his way behind all the bags I have in the closet for clothes we're not wearing right now (winter stuff etc) and was sleeping in the corner back there. Looked all around the house and finally he stirred and we heard rustling Stickers prefers to hide behind the washing machine if she can get past the baby gate.

Re: Rude wake up
Your Powder sounds like she is trying to keep up with your crazy bird, who knows what they will do next. I still think you having two bunnies for pets and that they are able to be free to do what they want is such a great thing. Well maybe not the hiding and chewing but then our birds do this too so bunnies are not much different.

Re: Rude wake up
My bird isn't that into hiding, his idea of a safe hiding spot is on my leg under the desk since it's dark and warm. Chewing I think he's got the bunnies beat on though, every window has wood trim around the panes of glass and I cannot open the blinds or curtains without getting a silly cockatiel going "OOOH! CHEW TOYS!" They honestly aren't much different than cats though, except they are herbivore so won't try to eat my bird. With enough scratching areas and toys they don't damage anything (usually). Next week is 4 weeks for Powder's neuter, so he gets to start serious bonding sessions with the little girl - will share cuddle pics when they finally do bond.

Re: Rude wake up
Nah, just the cloth undercovering had a huge hole in it lol boyfriend came home and I told him to put the bed back together (lifting a queen bed set up is a lot easier than putting it back in place by yourself) and he ended up ripping all the cloth cover off so Powder has nothing to jump into. Guess that is one way to fix him getting inside it again.

Re: Rude wake up
I know, right? Could put something on it so he can't get to the cloth, but nooo.. We need a new bed set anyway, it's getting kind of old, so no damage done!

Re: Rude wake up
My cat does that! The cotton covering under my bpxspring kinda feel off the bottom of it so sometimes she climbs into the boxspring! I'm always worried she going to get her head stuck in a spring lol!
