Driving me nuts!
Oscar is driving me nuts with his constant screeching! My god he is so loud, I have such a headache! Why does he do this, the other 3 screech a little occasionally but Oscar is all the time. He doesnt like the others near the food pots, millet, grit pots and he has claimed a swing as his and his only. Why is he such a screecher and is it normal for him to be so possessive?

Re: Driving me nuts!
Usually the male budgies are more vocal. Some are starved for affection, others use the screeching to get attention. A little trick I used a few years ago was to get a recording of 'Happy Budgies' (you can download or purchase CDs) and play it fairly loud. That distracted the screetcher right away, but careful, mine soon started making love to the speaker!

Lol @ making love to the speaker....Oh what a site that must have been *giggles*
I find when Marley gets going with his screeching, quickest way to shut him up is pop him on my shoulder and keep doing what i'm doing

Re: Driving me nuts!
I second Pixibubbles - is there any chance he could be a she? That sounds almost EXACTLY like Julie - who I informally call Madam - when she's feeling neglected or if Lawrence is eating/chatting to his mirror/not paying her any attention/or on the highest swing - and if he is, she pushes him off it sharpish! I have never heard Lawrence screech unless Madam is pulling his tail, but he does have a beautiful 'murmuring' sound and sometimes sings beautifully.

I was sane once, but I got better.

My baby boy, Lawrence.
