Re: Types?
They are sooooo beautiful! I'm not very educated on keet mutations, but just had to post my thoughts to you. They are soooooo unique and look very, very healthy!! Looks to me like you are really feeding them well and doing an excellent job caring for them.

Re: Types?
hi, thanx for your wonderful comments...
I try to mix the food they eat, fruits, vegies, canary and finch seeds, vitamins drop in water, also for plumage... etc....
Hope someone knows the mutations...

Re: Types?
those look like English Budgies... but I am not well versed on budgies. They are beautiful.. and look great. I have canary, I know you must be taking good care of them. I put the liquid vitamins in the food and mix the probotics in it. I also put scatt, iodine and calicum in the water. The only advice I could help you with is diet is number one, healthy birds are happy birds. Have fun watching them, and teaching them tricks. Some budgies will talk a few words. Check it out on Utube, they have some nice videos of budgies.

Re: Types?
Nothing English about these birds. Just your average (but pretty) pet/American budgie.
The lighter is a cinnamon cobalt, cock. Cinnamon is a sex linked mutation. A cock must have 2 copies of this mutation to show it.
The darker is an opaline cobalt, hen. Opaline is a sex linked mutaiton. Hen's can never be split for it. Opaline means the body color is showing through the wing patter.
That looks to be a VERY small round cage. You need to invest in a larger cage for these birds, what they look to be in would be like you living in your bedroom closet. Also round cages are the worst. They give the bird no feeling of securty as a cage with corners.

Egg's Cracking...
Re: Types?
I do agree about the round cages, but my friend has a (too small) round cage and she's only had one nervy bird (her current one) out of 4. Her first budgie she never had any problems with him being nervous- if anything he was too bold and curious Her cage really is too small, to put her bird away she has to basically hook it's head under the door rather than just let it hop in easily. In comparison to Rory's cage when he came to stay it must have looked like a mansion to him!!!
Beautiful birds, they seem happy and interested in surroundings. Good luck with them

Re: Types?
Hmmm... sorry to bring up this old topic.... but are you certain one is cock and one is hen?

Re: Types?
I do not know the mutations. Your birds do appear in fine health, alert and happy. Seems they click with each other, as they stay close together. One has a beautiful color of blue on the front of body.

Re: Types?
I would say they are both male, though I am not so sure about the one from the top link, the pale rings found the nares could indicate a famale. When I had a male and a female, the ceres went blue and brown respectively so I had no such problem. Perjhaps someone with more experience will come along and help?
